I was watching one of those awful-but-strangely-compelling list shows on BBC3 the other night. It was a somewhat premature retrospective of the abominably-monikered noughties. It featured a small excerpt on blogs, and one of the talking heads made a rather disparaging remark about how there were so many, and yet so few of them contained anything interesting.
I’ve not had much to say of late. In fact, the year as a whole is rather threadbare in terms of content and, when it comes to writing at least, I’m more comfortable posting random nonsense on twitter and being ignored by celebrities. My life, whilst having changed very much for the good, is not really the stuff of blog posts. Or, at least I don’t want it to be. Since I’ve made a conscious decision to not make a soap opera of my private life, posting random minutiae seems a little presumptuous in terms of expecting people to read it.
However, I still like posting pictures, and I’d very much like to continue doing just that. So, future updates will be pretty much wholly pictorial: sketchbook stuff, works-in-progress and finished work. They’re likely to be even more sporadic than they are now. I’m sure there’ll be the odd hello from time to time, and I’ll still reply to comments (which I find far more enjoyable than writing stuff for the blog, if I’m honest. Which I am).
Below, you’ll find a significantly pruned blog. Prose and stuff I don’t like: gone. Just the pictures. There’ll be some further jiggling about as I re-order some of it.
And one more important thing, if you’re interested: it’s all for sale. If you fancy anything you see below, contact me via the email link and we can thrash something out. Sketchbook pics, finished drawings, whatever; drop me a line.
I’d love to hear your thoughts about all this. Whatever you do, don’t be a stranger.
Thank you.
